Aimee Eckley
Junior High Assistant Director
From Aimee:
I am excited to help SFS grow a thriving middle school cohort. Having spent over two decades working with youth in many capacities (mostly middle and high school), my heart is motivated to help build strong and resilient students, as well as stable and healthy families who are not afraid to lead lives that look different from the status quo.
After earning a BA in Rhetoric and a Masters in Teaching from Willamette University, I spent ten years teaching in a public middle school classroom. As my family’s needs grew, I decided to teach from home while nurturing my own young daughters. Eventually, this included homeschooling our girls while simultaneously launching a multi-family home school co-op of upper elementary and middle school-aged students. As many of those kids have transitioned successfully into high school, I am free to turn my energies to developing a robust middle school curriculum and program for SFS. It feels like a full-circle life event as I have been cheering Annie and SFS on from the get go.
Outside of my passion for teaching/educating, I really enjoy walks outdoors, reading, listening to inspiring podcasts, and organizing. Our family loves to try new recipes and cook together. From leading two active Courageous Girls groups, cheering at weekly volleyball and basketball games, and serving on the Courageous Girls Board of Directors, I stay busy with our family life and am likely planning our next travel adventure.
